The film was named after a dialogue spoken by Dhamu in Gemini -2002, where he explains that Maan Karate means nothing more than how a deer runs away when in danger, The film has been titled so because whenever there is a problem in his life, the hero Sivakarthikeyan fails to face them and runs for cover instead.

Anirudh has shaken a leg to a fast-paced song in Maan Karate. The number will feature him and the hero doing a few kuthu steps. A source says, "This song, which has been sung by music director Deva, was picturised recently, and both Anirudh and Sivakarthikeyan have shared screen space in it." Anirudh has earlier performed to the 'chicken dance' in the Chennai City Gangsta song in Vanakkam Chennai.
